Details
A delightful object, the Eames Molded Plywood Elephant (1945) developed out of Charles and Ray Eames’ fascination with elephants. Their original design was made of molded plywood, but fabrication methods proved too complex due to its tight compound curves, and they were unable to put it into production. In 2007, their dream was finally realized thanks to advancements in 3-D molded wood technology. Today the Eames Elephant is available in a choice of molded plywood or polypropylene, and for a limited time, the plywood version is available in dark green. Made in Germany.
