The Sled Chair (1966) draws the eye to its distinctive base, constructed of thin tubular steel welded into an X-shape and mounted on parallel rails. Adding to this bold aesthetic, its seat has luxurious padded ribs to cradle the occupant in uncompromising comfort. Sled reflects designer Ward Bennett’s belief that “real beauty asks to be used.”

Ward Bennett
