Born in 1918, Copenhagen native Henning Koppel showed an early talent for art, which led him to study sculpture first at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and later in Paris. He’s best known for his work in the years following WWII, when he started a lifelong collaboration with Georg Jensen, for which he designed hollowware, glassware, and clocks. Koppel earned many accolades over the course of his career, including three gold medals from Milan Triennale in the 1950s and the International Design Award of the American Institute of Interior Designers in 1963. One of Koppel’s most famous pieces, the HK 1.2-Liter Pitcher (1900s) is spare but sensuous, with an elegantly extended sweeping handle and exaggerated pouring lip. Crafted from pristine mirror-polished stainless steel. Dishwasher safe. Made in China.
