Details

Having experimented with the size, shape, and position of the Artichoke Lamp’s (1958) metal shades, designer Poul Henningsen settled on an overlapping pattern that softly and evenly illuminates. Concentric rows of “leaves,” painted white on the underside, disguise the fixture’s electrical components, leaving just a spectacular form to see. Bulb for small (not included): 200W max, E26 base. Bulb for others (included): 97W LED. UL Listed. Made in Denmark.
  • Pendant lamp with concentric rows of metal “leaves” that diffuse and direct light.
  • Stunning sculptural form.
  • Creates a warm, uniform, glare-free glow.
  • Concealed electrical components.

Poul Henningsen

Trained as an architect, Poul Henningsen is best known for a series of lighting fixtures that resulted from his fascination with the then-new technology of the electric light bulb. In 1925, one of these fixtures won first prize for lighting at the International Exposition of Decorative Arts in Paris. The next year it was put into production by Louis Poulsen & Co.
