When Ethiopian-born, Brooklyn-based Hana Getachew founded Bolé Road Textiles, one of her goals was to support artisans in Ethiopia. The Shoa Rug is a testament to that – a nod to Ethiopia’s brightly colored textiles (and named after one of the five gates that surround the city of Harar), Shoa is made of 100% Ethiopian wool and handcrafted by Ethiopian artisans who use traditional weaving techniques. Pieces vary slightly from one piece to the next due to their handmade fabrication. Made in Ethiopia.

Hana Getachew

After a decade in architecture, Hana Getachew decided to merge her passion for design with a love of fabrics from her native Ethiopia, and Bolé Road Textiles was born. Getachew's designs are handwoven by artisans in Ethiopia, making each piece one of a kind. The vivid patterns and bright colors evoke the vibrant culture she grew up with and honor the heritage and traditional crafts of the region.
