Details

Depicted with a delicate stroke, Silhouette is marked by nine several imaginary characters that intertwine and coexist in one composition, distributed at different angles so that it can be viewed from any angle. This rug is created using the laborious embroidery-on-kilim technique. Since the 1980s, Nani Marquina has been a pioneer of modern rug design. Together with nonprofit Care & Fair, she fights against illegal child labor in rug manufacturing. Suitable for use indoors and out. Made in India.

Jaime Hayon

Jaime Hayon has distinguished himself among a new generation of artist-designers with a style that’s playful, unexpected and a little flamboyant. And in true next-generation fashion, Hayon is his own design creation, regularly including himself in photos of his work.

Nani Marquina

“My job is chasing beauty,” Nani Marquina told DWR in 2007. “The fullest place where you can find beauty is in nature. I love to stare at spectacular landscapes.” A common thread that runs through her innovative and conceptual floor coverings, the natural world – its shapes, colors and textures – has informed Marquina’s work since she launched her company in 1987.
