Founded by Peter Bonnén and Kristian Byrge, Muuto is a Danish company “striving to expand the Scandinavian design tradition with new and original perspectives.” In fact, the name Muuto is inspired by the Finnish word muutos, meaning “a new perspective.” The company handpicks the brightest designers in Scandinavia and invites them to express their stories through everyday objects, resulting in what some are calling “new Nordic” – still true to the heritage of the ’50s and ’60s but with an approach that resonates around the globe.
